A virtual marketplace matching Washington state exporters and British Columbia buyers on a new web portal is being created. The marketplace segments businesses based on industry sectors to deliver the most relevant matches.
The website will be free and easy to use, offering Washington state exporters the ability to post opportunities for partnerships, distributor relationships or agents in British Columbia. Throughout the site, British Columbia companies will be able to easily access a repertoire of Washington state products and services.
We are attracting British Columbia buyers based primarily on connections through partner relationships, targeted outreach and promotional activities. This matchmaking will be controlled for quality, integrity of buyers and sellers and capability to export. Quality control will be maintained by requiring interested Washington companies to apply online to access the virtual marketplace.
The CEV will approve the Washington state exporter's ability to participate in the web marketplace by vetting the businesses' readiness to engage in export commerce.
