Trade Shows and Trade Missions
The Center for Economic Vitality’s series of Trade Missions is designed to highlight Washington State products and services and identify export partners in B.C. The Missions will be on-going events throughout the next year and a half.
We will use our economic gardening research services and business development partners in the United States and British Columbia to aid in the promotional efforts.
Our first event is going to be in November of 2011, and two more missions will take place in 2012. Each event will create opportunities for matching Washington State producers and B.C. distributors. All of these events are going to take place in the Vancouver, BC area.
The first Trade Mission will be to the B.C. Hospitality Industry Conference & Expo on November 7th and 8th from 10:30 AM t0 5:00 PM.
The event will be at the Vancouver Convention Centre. As the primary audience at this show is buyers and suppliers for such establishments as hotels, restaurants, Bed & Breakfasts, golf courses and bars, we are inviting small businesses who operate primarily in the agriculture sector to join us. Our goal for this show is to have 10 businesses participate. The show will allow these companies an opportunity to establish a presence in the Canadian marketplace and get their products in front of a targeted group of customers in a short period of time.
Producers from the following industries would be an appropriate fit for this type of show:
• Agricultural goods, including fruits, berries, vegetables & dairy products
• Baked goods
• Beer & wine
• Coffee & teas
• Meat and meat products
• Seafood
• Gourmet foods
