For 24 years the Center for Economic Vitality (formerly the SBDC) has been strengthening businesses and communities by integrating business research tools with counseling in Whatcom County.
Our Research staff work in partnership with our business strategists to provide secondary research to help companies in Whatcom County plan, adjust to changes in the marketplace and/or identify business problem areas. Research services include:
- Local/regional/national demographics
- Identify prospective customers
- Consider business expansion
- Determine business efficiency
- Understand break-even points
- Industry trends and outlooks
- Perform competitive analysis
- Understand consumer behavior
The Economic Gardening and Special Projects programs are housed in the CEV at the College of Business and Economics at Western Washington University.
